When installing the damper on the chassis, changing the ball on the bottom of the damper to aluminum prevents the ball from being crushed by tightening the screws, allowing smooth movement of the damper and suspension. The alumite treatment is harder than before, making it durable enough to be used in harsh conditions such as off-roading.
