Fine-Tune Vintage RX Handling with the XRAY 345101 Rear Axle

The XRAY 345101 Rear Solid Axle Set is a targeted upgrade for owners of older RX series cars who want better throttle response and reduced rotational inertia. Manufactured from HUDY Spring Steel, this axle is engineered to be 25% lighter than the standard #345110 model while maintaining the toughness needed for regular track use.

High Precision Finish and Long-Lasting Treatment

Each axle is hand-ground to a smooth running surface to minimise friction and ensure consistent behaviour under load. Heat treatment and a protective black coating increase wear resistance, and the package includes a 48T rear composite lightweight axle pulley for a clean fit with your drivetrain.

Key Features and Compatibility

  • Material: HUDY Spring Steel for a strong yet lightweight component.
  • Weight Savings: Approximately 25% lighter than the standard #345110 axle, reducing rotating mass.
  • Durability: Heat treated and black coated to extend service life.
  • Finish: Hand-ground surfaces for smooth operation and precise fit.
  • Fitment: Specifically made to retrofit older RX series models.
Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some XRAY items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Most older RX series cars accept this axle as a direct replacement, but check your chassis layout and mounting interfaces before ordering to confirm a slip-in fit.
Reducing rotational mass improves acceleration and transient response, so you will notice quicker spool up and more agile corner exits, especially on tighter layouts.
You may want to review rear roll centre and differential tuning after installation, as lower rotating mass can slightly change traction and balance at the rear.
Keep the axle clean, inspect the hand-ground surface for wear, and check the pulley for secure fitment. A light lubricant on bearings helps preserve the finish.
