High Precision RC Gear Design

For racers wanting tighter drivetrain response, the XRAY 305979 Aluminum Narrow Pinion Gear combines a low weight profile with durable construction. Machined from aircraft-grade duraluminum, this pinion is 1.5mm thinner and 25% lighter than standard options, giving reduced rotating mass while retaining structural strength.

Precision Manufacturing and Finishing

This narrow pinion is produced on a specially-modified precision gear machine to achieve exact tolerances and excellent concentricity. All teeth and faces are chamfered and the part receives a hardcoat finish to boost wear resistance. When matched to compatible spur gears, particularly XRAY spur gears, the precise machining helps minimize throttle noise for cleaner engagement.

Track-Ready Performance

Built for serious RC enthusiasts, the XRAY 305979 pinion is supplied ready to fit and offers stable, repeatable performance on the track. Its lightweight profile helps with acceleration and transient response, making it a straightforward upgrade for maintaining or improving handling and drivetrain efficiency.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some XRAY items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Use spur gears with the same pitch and tooth profile; pairing with XRAY spur gears ensures the cleanest mesh and lowest noise.
Fit the pinion straight onto the motor shaft, set the correct mesh using a feeler or paper method, and tighten the set screw to the recommended torque. Check mesh after a short run.
Inspect the gear teeth for rounding or pitting, listen for increased noise, and clean out debris regularly. Replace the pinion if tooth profiles degrade.
