The Jagdtiger remains one of the most imposing German tank destroyers from World War II. Originating in early 1943, the design aimed to engage enemy armour at range. The Porsche prototype used an eight road wheel layout, while an alternative Henschel version had nine road wheels. Production was delayed as resources were shifted to vehicles like the Pz.Kpfw V Panther, but the Jagdtiger eventually saw service and left a clear mark on wartime armoured development.
Trumpeter's 1:72 scale Trumpeter 07273 Jagdtiger (P) kit gives hobbyists a faithful recreation of the Porsche-suspension variant. The set comprises 78 plastic pieces that reproduce the distinctive suspension and hull lines. Builders at an intermediate skill level will find the assembly rewarding, with enough detail to suit careful painting and finishing. The finished model measures 145.6mm long, making it a compact but impressive addition to a WWII display.
As a compact, accurate model the Jagdtiger (P) works well in small dioramas or on a shelf with other 1:72 armour. Its proportions and decal choices make it useful for educational displays as well as collector showcases.
