The USS New Orleans CA-32 was a key New Orleans-class cruiser active during World War II. These second-generation Treaty heavy cruisers were designed between the wars and carried wartime displacements between 10,136 and 12,436 tons, fitted with period radar and strengthened anti-aircraft armament for Pacific operations.
The New Orleans-class vessels were noted for toughness and service longevity; four survivors after 1942 took part in major actions against Japan and the class amassed 63 Battle Stars in total. This Trumpeter kit recreates the USS New Orleans as she appeared in 1942, complete with MS21 camouflage details.
The kit provides a detailed build experience across nine sprues and gives the modeller the choice of waterline or full hull presentation. Careful assembly and fine painting will produce an accurate 1942 representation suitable for shelf display or naval dioramas.
