The de Havilland DH.103 Hornet was a late World War II piston-engine fighter notable for its lightweight wooden construction and refined aerodynamics. Renowned for its service with Fighter Command after the war, the Hornet also saw successful operations in Malaya and inspired carrier-adapted Sea Hornet variants. Its combination of speed and range made it a standout design of the era.
This Trumpeter 1/48 scale kit captures the Hornet's distinctive lines and operational story. With more than 80 parts, it gives intermediate builders a satisfying assembly challenge while the finely engraved panel lines on fuselage and wings reproduce authentic surface detail. This build is intended as both a display piece and a tribute to the engineering behind the original aircraft.
