The Trumpeter 1/35 scale rendition of the Flak 43 gives modelers a close look at one of World War II's important anti-aircraft weapons. Designed by Rheinmetall, the Flak 43 used a gas-operated breech to streamline production and improve operational performance. Its field advantages included a higher rate of fire and quicker traverse and elevation, making it a clear upgrade over earlier Flak 18, 36, and 37 designs.
This kit reproduces the Flak 43 with faithful proportions and finely moulded parts. The finished model measures 110 mm in length and 70.8 mm in width, so it sits well alongside other 1/35 military subjects. With 139 plastic parts across five sprues, the build provides a satisfying mix of detail and assembly challenge for intermediate builders.
The kit does not include metal or resin components, but it does contain a single photo-etched part to boost realism in key areas. Decals are omitted, allowing builders to apply historically accurate markings or to personalise finishes based on their own references.
