The Trumpeter 1:32 scale F6F-5N Hellcat model kit reproduces the night fighter version with careful attention to historic detail. The F6F-5N carried an AN/APS-6 radar and heavier gun fit, allowing it to operate after dark with two 20mm cannons plus four .50 caliber machine guns.

Built by Grumman, 1,432 F6F-5N examples were produced and served with the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps from carriers and shore bases. Despite the radar fit and revised armament, the F6F-5N kept much of the F6F-5 basic airframe and handling characteristics.
