The Sukhoi Su-15, NATO code name "Flagon", is a notable Cold War interceptor that entered development in the 1950s and remained in service into the early 1990s. Capable of speeds above Mach 2.4, the aircraft combined mid-mounted delta wings, twin turbojet powerplants and a substantial missile load that defined its air defence role.
This 1:72 scale offering from Trumpeter contains 100 plastic parts to recreate the Su-15 Flagon-A profile. Key features modelled include the bullet-shaped nose and bubble canopy. With a finished length of 320.24mm and a wingspan of 118.73mm, the kit reflects the aircraft's proportions and is well suited for shelf display or diorama use.
The Su-15 played a central role in Soviet air defence missions, and this model provides a tangible link to that history for collectors. Placed alongside other Cold War types, the finished Flagon-A helps illustrate period tactics and platform development.
