The German Panzer IV played a broad role within armored formations during World War II, prized for its adaptability and durability across different fronts. The Bergepanzer IV was a recovery adaptation of that chassis, losing the turret and gaining a crane setup; by May 1944 production of the Bergepanzer 36 had begun to support battlefield recovery tasks.
This 1/35 scale kit from Trumpeter recreates the Bergepanzer IV with attention to functional detail, giving modellers the chance to replicate a practical support vehicle from the period. The parts emphasize the utilitarian nature of the design and aim to reflect the vehicle's role in wartime logistics.
With 823 plastic parts spread over 18 sprues, this kit presents a satisfying challenge that rewards careful build technique and patience. The included photo-etched frets increase surface fidelity, and the finished model measures 168mm long, 82.9mm wide and 58.3mm tall, making it a notable display model for any diorama or collection.
