Rear Damper Upgrade for Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer

Built for experienced RC drivers, the GPM Aluminum 6061-T6 Rear L-shape Piggy Back Adjustable Spring Dampers improve reliability and handling on rough courses. The aluminium body and beefed up components deliver longer life and steadier performance when you push the car hard.

Core Improvements

• The coil spring has been increased from 1.8mm to 2mm to add support and stability, while the stock spring is still compatible for a softer setup.
• The damper shaft diameter is upgraded from 3.5mm to 5mm to reduce flex and improve overall strength.
• Manufactured with an Aluminum 6061-T6 housing, the dampers include a shock-absorb cap that seals tightly to help prevent oil leaks.
• The L-shape piggy back layout features an integrated piston spring, enabling rebound adjustment for better pressure load distribution across the suspension.

How They Work and How to Tune

These dampers reduce friction and absorb compressive forces to stabilise chassis balance during operation. Fine tuning is possible by changing spring preload with the top spring retainer and adjusting the red screw at the base of the negative pressure oil cylinder to modify rebound hardness.
