The Russian Heavy Tank JS-2 proved a serious counter to the German Tiger I in World War II, combining a 122mm gun with thick armor for breakthrough roles on the Eastern Front. Production began in December 1943, and by August 1944 changes like removing the front glacis hatch increased frontal protection. The Chelyabinsk Kirov factory (ChKZ) produced many of these vehicles, which had major impact in armored engagements.
The Tamiya 32571 1/48 scale kit captures the JS-2s defining traits and gives modellers an accurate assembly project that balances detail with manageable size.
Designed for hobbyists who want period accuracy, this kit shows realistic cast texture on the turret and hull. The supplied assembly-type tracks create a natural sag when fitted, improving realism. A commander figure is included to fit the cupola, and the kit offers two marking schemes so you can choose a historically appropriate finish.
