The Sturmgeschuetz IV was built to give infantry formations close armored fire support. Designed in the late 1930s and fielded during World War II, it combined direct-fire capability with anti-tank performance. This Tamiya kit lets hobbyists assemble an accurate scale representation of that battlefield workhorse.
Introduced to provide organic firepower to infantry units, the Sturmgeschuetz IV evolved from earlier chassis work and reflected changes in German armour design. Roughly 1,000 vehicles were produced and they saw heavy use on several fronts, notably against Soviet forces.
The 1/35 kit captures key exterior details, including the prominent forward-mounted assault gun and realistic rubber track sections. Model builders will notice the replicated Zimmerit anti-magnetic coating and the moulded structural textures that add display realism.
