Tamiya 74139 Engraving Blade Holder - Steady control for fine detailing

The Tamiya 74139 Engraving Blade Holder is made for hobbyists who need reliable control when working on RC model details. Its light, ergonomic form helps reduce hand fatigue while you trace fine lines and add texture to bodywork and accessories.

Key design traits

Machined from durable aluminum, the holder includes a knurled grip to improve handling when you are working on delicate areas. Its slim, pen-like profile gives natural control for precision engraving, and the nickel-plated brass chuck lets you change blades with a simple pinch-and-twist motion.

Blade compatibility

This holder accepts Tamiya Fine Engraving Blades (Items 74135-38) and Design Knife Blades (Item 74074), giving you options for both thin scoring and more detailed line work. Use the appropriate blade for the surface and effect you want to achieve.

Safety and practical extras

The supplied protective cap keeps the blade covered when not in use and helps stop the tool from rolling off your bench, adding a small but useful safety and convenience benefit to your workspace.

Received exactly what I had order. Well package. Recommend.
Pinch the nickel-plated brass chuck gently and rotate the handle to release the blade. Insert the new blade and reverse the action to lock it in place. Handle blades carefully and use the cap when stored.
For crisp panel lines use the Fine Engraving Blades (74135-38). They give controlled cuts on styrene and thin lexan. Test on scrap material to choose the best blade for the scale and depth you want.
Wipe the aluminium body and chuck clean after use to remove dust and plastic swarf. Replace blades when blunt and keep the cap on when not in use to protect the tip and your bench area.
