The Tamiya 95500 DCR-01 Clear Blue Special joins the Mini 4WD lineup as a versatile kit for collectors and club racers. Its three-piece body layout lets builders mix canopy parts for custom looks, while metallic stickers add contrast to the clear body panels.

MA Chassis Aerodynamics and Layout

The MA (Midship AERO) chassis places the motor centrally to lower aerodynamic drag and improve balance. The kit includes six low-friction rollers and a rear skid bar to help keep the car steady at speed. The monocoque frame simplifies assembly and service, and the white chassis molding provides a clean base for painted accents.

The model runs on super hard low-profile tyres with Y-spoke wheels for predictable grip on a variety of track surfaces. With a 3.5:1 gear ratio it is tuned for sustained speed, and it requires R6/AA/UM3 batteries which are sold separately.

The separate canopy sections let you paint or dress each panel differently, so you can combine clear parts and painted pieces without masking complex shapes.
Check rollers for wear, clean bearings or bushings, inspect the rear skid bar and tyres, and apply light lubrication to gears after removing dust and debris.
Common upgrades include higher grade rollers, aluminium stabilisers and tuned motors; make sure any parts are compatible with the MA layout and mounting points.
