Tamiya 95047 Beat-Magnum 2014 Black Special on the Super TZ-X

The Tamiya 95047 Beat-Magnum 2014 Black Special is a limited Mini 4WD release that appeals to both display collectors and active hobbyists. Built around the Super TZ-X chassis, this 1/32 scale kit blends a mid-length, wide-tread platform with a smoke-tinted ABS body for a refined museum-quality finish that still performs on the track.

Structure and Styling Highlights

The Super TZ-X layout gives a stable base for tuning and racing setups. Key components are produced in red polycarbonate ABS for visual contrast and durability. A rear roller stay and red ABS trim parts boost rigidity, while the large-diameter five-spoke black wheels with hard red tyres deliver dependable straight-line stability.

Tuning, Power and Build Notes

This kit ships with a 4:1 gear ratio for a controlled mix of speed and acceleration. It does not include a motor, but the chassis accepts standard 130 motors so you can tailor power to your driving style. The refreshed sticker sheet personalises the build. Assembly requires two AA batteries, a small Phillips screwdriver and plastic model side cutters.

  • Scale: 1/32
  • Body Material: ABS Plastic
  • Body Stickers: Included
  • Gear Ratio: 4:1
  • Wheel Type: Large diameter 5-spoke black wheels
The kit works well for both purposes: the smoke ABS body and detailed parts make it attractive on a shelf, while the Super TZ-X chassis provides a stable platform for club-style track use when fitted with a suitable 130 motor.
For a balanced setup stick with a standard 130 size motor that complements the 4:1 gear ratio. Choose a motor that favors reliability and torque if you want smoother acceleration, or a higher rpm unit for top speed on long straights.
Use a small Phillips screwdriver and plastic nippers for clean assembly. Check gear mesh and wheel alignment before running, and keep the chassis free of dust to maintain rollers and bearings in good condition.
