Slash Reaper overview for competitive Mini 4WD

The Tamiya 95009 Slash Reaper Clear Red Special blends striking looks with practical race performance. Built on the AR (Aero) chassis, this 1/32 Mini 4WD kit delivers aerodynamic efficiency and a low centre of gravity for racers who want a fast, stable car. The model body was illustrated by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi and comes molded in transparent red ABS mounted on a white AR chassis.

Design and on-track behaviour

The AR chassis of the Slash Reaper is tuned to channel airflow and cut drag, helping the car maintain speed through straights and corners. The kit ships with a 130 motor and a factory gear ratio of 4.2:1, providing a reliable balance between acceleration and top speed.

Cosmetically, the Slash Reaper arrives with matte red metal-plated wheels and hard silver tyres for a durable, race-ready finish. New sticker sheets are included so builders can customise the look to their preference.

Specifications

  • Scale: 1/32
  • Length: 155mm
  • Width: 97mm
  • Body Material: Clear Red ABS Plastic
  • Chassis Type: AR (Aero)
  • Motor: 130 included
The AR chassis lowers the centre of gravity and routes airflow to reduce lift, which helps the car stay planted in high-speed sections and improves stability through tight bends. It is well suited to technical layouts that reward smooth cornering.
The supplied 130 motor gives consistent performance for club-level racing. Many racers upgrade the motor for more top speed or torque, but the stock motor is a solid starting point for practice and local events.
You will need a small Phillips screwdriver, side cutters for sprues, and a hobby knife or file for minor trimming. Basic greasing and a few spare screws will make setup easier.
Yes, the AR chassis accepts common Mini 4WD wheels and tyre types. Swapping to softer compound tyres can improve grip on smooth tracks, while harder tyres are more durable for rougher surfaces.
