1/35 Scale Replica of L.R.D.G. North Africa Operations

The Tamiya 89785 model kit recreates the British Long Range Desert Group Command Car, shown with a captured Italian Breda 20mm anti-aircraft gun. This 1/35 subject illustrates the improvisation and desert work of L.R.D.G. patrols, and it reproduces the vehicle chassis and body lines for an authentic build experience for hobbyists.

Period Correct Equipment and Stowage

The kit features an open rear cargo area with a radio and a Lewis gun to reflect operational fittings. Extras such as an anti-tank rifle, wooden crates and canvas rolls add display realism. The Italeri-made Breda 20mm AA appears in its towed layout with alternate sight parts. The finished model is 157mm long and includes ammunition boxes and two driver figures to stage a small vignette.

Reference photos and period guides are recommended; aftermarket decal sheets or reference books can help with authentic markings and weathering approaches.
