The Tamiya 89783 captures the Italian L6/40 in accurate 1/35 scale with careful surface and detail work. Conceived by Fiat-Ansaldo in 1936 and produced from 1941, the L6/40 served in theatres such as North Africa, the Balkans and the Eastern Front, and remains an important example of interwar Italian armoured design.
This limited edition kit delivers an authentic build with a riveted hull style reminiscent of the Carro Armato M13/40. The parts list includes realistic transmission components, the driver seat, a drive shaft and a turret-mounted 20mm gun. Builders can model open or closed hatches on both hull and turret and fit the engine inspection doors to taste.
The kit uses assembly-type tracks and supplies photo-etched items for door hinges, exhaust guards and number plates. Five decal schemes allow representation of tanks from North African, Russian and Balkan fronts plus a German service example. Two Tamiya figures are included, a standing officer and a seated crewman, with uniform decals provided.
