The Italian Armored Car AB41 earned a reputation during World War II for its adaptability and service on several fronts. The four-wheel drive layout, combined with four-wheel steering and independent suspension, made it manoeuvrable in reconnaissance roles. It saw extensive use in North Africa and later entered service with German formations after Italy's surrender.
This Tamiya 1/48 scale example captures the AB41s character in miniature. The 110mm model shows the riveted hull reproduced by Italeri, while the turret and 20mm gun are modelled with clear detail. A special die-cast chassis gives the finished kit a reassuring weight, and rubber tyres echo the larger desert-spec tyres used in Libya. The kit includes decals for four marking choices: two North African patterns, one Italian domestic finish, and one Wehrmacht variant.
