Tamiya 87111 Texture Paint in Grass Green is a water-based paste designed to reproduce grassy ground on scale scenes. It contains 5mm long coloured fibres suspended in a paste base and is intended to be applied over Diorama Texture Paint (Soil Effect) for the most convincing finish.

Coverage and Drying Guide

A single 40ml bottle will cover roughly a B4 area with one coat. Drying depends on ambient conditions, typically about 3-4 hours in warm conditions and 4-5 hours when cooler. The formulation gives minimal odour and washes up with water before it sets. Use a spatula or an old brush to apply and avoid using your finest new brushes.

Mixing and Weathering Notes

If you want to tweak the tone, small amounts of other Tamiya acrylic paints can be blended into the texture. Enamel washes and dry brushing over the textured surface can add depth and contrast. Avoid putting this product through an airbrush since the fibres and paste can clog and damage the equipment.
