The Porsche 911 GT2, introduced in 1995, blended the core engineering of the 911 Turbo with race-oriented GT2 upgrades. Its wide arches, sizeable rear wing and low stance made it a standout on road and track, reaching top speeds around 187 mph and sprinting 0-60 in under four seconds in period tests.
The Tamiya 84399 is mounted on the TA02SW chassis, an evolution of the TA-02 that focuses on balance and tunability. The platform uses a short wheelbase and wider track to mirror the GT2 proportions, and features a sturdy tub chassis, 4WD shaft drive and fully independent double wishbone suspension for predictable behaviour on paved surfaces.
The polycarbonate body reproduces the bolt-on over fenders and pronounced rear wing while the chassis supports performance tuning with oil-filled dampers and a mix of gear and ball differentials. Together these elements create a model that looks authentic and delivers satisfying feedback on the road.
The Tamiya 911 GT2 on the TA02SW chassis is well suited to scale model fans and club racers who value accurate looks and tunable on-road dynamics. It makes for a rewarding build and a capable runner on smooth circuits.
