The Tyrrell P34 remains one of Formula One's boldest experiments, and Tamiya 84263 captures that spirit in 1/10 scale. This model reproduces the car entered at the 1977 Monaco Grand Prix, giving hobbyists a faithful, buildable replica that celebrates the original engineering and racing heritage.
The Tamiya 84263 uses a direct drive 2WD F103 chassis with a semi-double deck layout for strength and tuneability. The top deck uses 1.5mm FRP while the lower deck is 2.5mm thick for reinforced rigidity. A kingpin and coil spring front suspension delivers independent control to the four front wheels via a single servo, while the rear uses a T-bar with coil spring and friction plate to stabilise handling at speed.
Tamiya has recreated the P34s polycarbonate bodywork and supplied period-correct decals representing cars driven by Jody Scheckter and Patrick Depailler. High-grip sponge tyres on both axles provide traction across tarmac and smooth surfaces, and the built-in ball differential in the spur gear gives a limited slip effect to improve cornering control.
For collectors and club-level competitors, the Tamiya 84263 Tyrrell P34 blends historical accuracy with practical performance, making it a rewarding build and an eye-catching track car.
