The Tamiya LP-38 Flat Aluminum Lacquer produces a subtle matte silver tone suited to car, motorcycle and static scale projects. It works well for covering large panels with an airbrush or for careful brush detail, giving consistent metallic shading.
This lacquer forms a tough membrane that makes an effective basecoat and shows good resistance when overcoated with many enamels. Drying times are relatively quick, helping model builders move through multi-stage paint jobs without long delays.
Supplied in a 10ml bottle, LP-38 is aimed at general model painting. The lacquer shade can vary slightly from similarly named Tamiya acrylics and spray finishes. For smooth spraying and best results use the recommended lacquer thinner and follow standard ventilation and safety guidance.
