Service History and Importance

Commissioned in 1943 as the second Iowa-class battleship, the USS New Jersey took part in many key operations before final decommissioning in 1991. The original kit from 1984 has been updated with detail-up parts to allow a truer rendition of her later refit.

The set contains injection-moulded plastic together with photo-etched components to represent items like AA radars, surface search arrays and Link 11 antennae. Metal screw shafts are included and there are options shown for SH-60B helicopters.
