The Tamiya 1/350 scale model of the Japanese Battleship Yamato provides a carefully researched representation of the vessel as she prepared for her final sortie to Okinawa. This version benefits from new tooling and improved parts to give model builders a more faithful and detailed kit to assemble and display.
The Yamato led her class and is widely regarded for her engineering during World War II. This Tamiya release captures key characteristics with exacting detail and lets builders decide between a waterline presentation or a full-hull build. Updated moulding adds finer detail to the foredeck, hull sides and stern in line with recent references.
Deck sections are supplied as separate moulded components to simplify painting and to boost realism. Main turrets rotate and include internal detail, while poly-cap fittings allow adjustable gun elevation. Elastomer parts reproduce canvas covers and sandbags for a natural look, and the secondary and anti-aircraft weapons offer rotation and elevation movement.
