The Japanese Navy Destroyer Yukikaze, a Kagero-class vessel, holds a storied place in naval history. Launched in January 1940, she served across World War II in major operations from the Philippines to the Solomon Islands and saw action at the Battle of Okinawa. Noted for surviving the conflict, Yukikaze earned the nickname "lucky destroyer." This 1/350 scale kit from Tamiya represents Yukikaze as she appeared during the 1945 Ten Ichi Go operation.
This precise model kit gives builders the chance to recreate an important wartime destroyer. It includes options for both waterline and full hull presentation so you can choose the display style. Rotating guns and torpedoes are possible thanks to polycaps, while the sturdy ABS masts resist warping. Photo-etched ladders and antenna parts add fine detail, and metal chains improve deck realism. A display stand is supplied for straightforward presentation.
