The Tamiya 1/350 scale model of the HMS Prince of Wales presents a carefully researched recreation of a key World War II battleship. Noted for its role in the hunt for the Bismarck and its later loss alongside HMS Repulse, this kit recreates the ship as seen during operations in December 1941.
The Prince of Wales played a notable role in early WWII naval actions and the model highlights the visual differences from its sister ship, HMS King George V, such as bridge arrangement and anti-aircraft layouts. The box also contains parts to assemble a Supermarine Walrus seaplane plus two Japanese bombers, the G3M and G4M, to complete a historically grounded display.
With an overall length of 649mm and a beam of 99mm, the finished model makes an impressive exhibit. A dedicated display stand and nameplate are included, and careful handling of delicate components during assembly rewards builders with an accurate, museum-quality representation.
