The Tamiya 70247 4-Track Crawler is a practical addition to the STEM range, giving hobbyists and young builders a tactile way to learn about gears, axles, and track mechanics. The model uses three-sided crawler units rather than a conventional four-wheel layout so it can move over uneven ground more reliably.
With overall dimensions of 200mm long, 103mm wide, and 100mm high and a mass of 266g, this crawler features belt-style tracks driven by sprockets and supported by two road wheels for improved grip. The front axle pivots around the prop shaft to help the vehicle climb and traverse bumpy surfaces, including packed snow.
The kit is supplied as a snap-fit and screw-together model, making assembly straightforward for different skill levels. It is powered by a type 130 motor and needs two AA batteries (not included). Builders can remove the roll bar to fit Wild Mini 4WD Series bodies, and the standard tracks are replaceable with link-type tracks (Item 70237) to boost traction.
