The Tamiya 70238 Kayak kit gives a practical introduction to movement mechanics through assembly and testing. Builders get a clear view of how link rods and crank action translate motor output into paddle motion.
The finished model measures 210mm long, 200mm wide and 105mm tall. It uses a compact underwater gearbox paired with a submarine motor mini to drive the paddle through a crank and link rod arrangement, recreating natural paddling action for study or display.
Paddle blade angles can be adjusted to influence steering, adding an interactive tuning element. A PE foam stabiliser keeps the kayak upright in water and doubles as a display stand. Rubber rings protect the paddles and the kit includes water-resistant stickers for custom finishes.
