This compact gearbox is built for hobbyists and educators who want a hands-on mechanical learning tool. The Tamiya 70189 Mini Motor Low Speed Gearbox provides selectable ratios and a small footprint that fits into many experimental projects.
Fitted with a type 030 motor, the unit is designed for low electrical draw and reduced electrical noise, helping keep power demands modest. The clear gear case makes it easy to observe gear engagement and learn how different ratios affect output speed and torque.
The gearbox offers four gear steps: 71.4:1, 149.9:1, 314.9:1, and 661.2:1, selectable by changing the final gear position. It includes a 3mm hex shaft and multiple fixing holes to integrate with other Tamiya craft components.
Measuring roughly 20mm wide, 24mm tall and 30mm long, this gearbox is small enough to install in tight builds such as the 1/35 Panzerkampfwagen II Ausf. A/B/C (Sd.Kfz.121). Its compact dimensions make it versatile for classroom rigs and compact RC applications.
