The Douglas A-1H Skyraider earned a reputation after WWII for a rugged airframe and large external stores capability. This 1/48 scale model from Tamiya reproduces the aircraft's silhouette and service intent, making it a rewarding project for scale builders and display collectors.
Originating from a 1943 U.S. Bureau of Aeronautics requirement, the Skyraider combined torpedo and dive bomber tasks into a single platform. First flown in 1945, the AD-6/A-1H became the most widely produced variant, noted for surviving heavy loads and combat damage. The static model gives hobbyists the chance to recreate that operational resilience in miniature.
