The Tamiya 1/72 Mitsubishi A6M3 Zero Fighter Model 32 captures a key developmental step in WWII fighter design. This Hamp variant is presented with careful detail, making it a rewarding subject for hobbyists who focus on accurate small scale builds.
The A6M3 Model 32 updated the earlier Model 21 with the Sakae 21 engine and revised wing geometry, boosting top speed by about 11 km/h while increasing fuel use and reducing operational range by roughly 1,000 km. After its first flight on July 15, 1941, the Model 32 saw limited production and frontline use, including service with the 2nd Fighter Group in Rabaul and the Philippines, with around 343 examples completed.
This 1/72 scale kit from Tamiya offers newly designed wing and fuselage parts plus a detailed engine cowl, so it reproduces the Model 32 silhouette well while staying compact for shelf display. Three decal options are included for different historical markings, letting builders create multiple museum style or diorama subjects.
