The Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero Model 21, often called the 'Zeke', was a principal fighter aircraft in the early Pacific campaign of World War II. Known for its long range and nimble handling, the Zero left a lasting impression on wartime aviation. This 1/32 scale kit recreates the aircraft with careful attention to its distinctive lines and operational role.
This 1/32 scale assembly presents faithful proportions with a listed length of 283mm and a wingspan of 375mm, produced using slide molding to capture fine surface detail. The model includes a detailed representation of the Nakajima Sakae type 12 engine, complete with the propeller reduction gear and exhaust arrangement to enhance realism.
The set gives modelmakers multiple display choices, offering interchangeable folded and extended wingtips plus movable landing gear, rudder, and flaps. Delicate photo-etched seat belts and metal parts for the landing gear and pitot tube are supplied to lift the build quality.
Display flexibility is strong, with retractable gear and a posable stand for static exhibits. The kit includes both standing and seated pilot figures and supplies seven marking schemes used by aircraft involved in the Pearl Harbor operations, along with wheel chocks and access steps for diorama setups.
