The Tamiya Hotshot II was revived from the 1987 lineup and reworked by Jun Watanabe to keep the original spirit intact while adding sensible updates. This 1/10 scale kit brings back the iconic silhouette with attention to historical detail.
The model uses a vivid blue polycarbonate shell that comes pre-cut and pre-painted to speed up assembly. The raised roll cage gives a higher driver stance, and matte-finish metal-plated uprights and wheels lift the presentation. The Blockhead Motors decals are applied for period-correct styling and can be customised if desired.
Behind the bodywork the Hotshot II features a 4-wheel drive layout with double wishbone suspension, using one front transverse and two rear CVA II oil dampers. It ships for a 540-type brushed motor application, but you will need to supply an ESC, radio and battery to complete the setup. Its chassis is aimed at off-road driving and light trail work.
Both share Blockhead Motors branding, yet the Hotshot II has a distinct suspension geometry and riding character compared to the Wild One. If you favour a retro off-road feel with manageable handling, this model will stand apart.
The Tamiya Hotshot II suits hobbyists who value classic R/C design with period-correct updates. It is a solid build for collectors and drivers who want a vintage off-road experience with modern assembly conveniences.
