GT500 Icon Shrunk to 1/10 Scale

Among RC replicas, the Tamiya GR Supra GT500 stands out for its faithfulness to the road car. This 1/10 scale rendition celebrates the Toyota GR Supra GT500 racing heritage, following on from the Lexus LC500 era. The model mirrors the racing DNA with details such as a carbon monocoque style aesthetic and aerodynamic bodywork, reflecting the real machine's turbocharged powerplant and competition roots. Tamiya captures that race-bred feel in a kit built for scale realism and track use.

TT-02 Platform: Balanced and Straightforward

The TT-02 platform underpins this kit and is prized for predictable handling and easy setup. Its shaft-driven 4WD layout delivers stable traction, while the left-side battery and right-side motor layout help with weight balance. Adjustable wheelbases, selectable ride heights, and multiple gearing options provide room for tuning to suit different circuits and driving styles.

Scale Finish and Race Hardware

Bodywork is moulded in lightweight polycarbonate with fitted ABS bits like mirrors and the rear wing for authentic looks. Gun metal 12-spoke wheels are fitted with racing slick tyres to match the on-track theme. Decal sheets and window masks let you apply team liveries and personal touches during the build.

The Tamiya GR Supra GT500 TT-02 blends period race detail and a usable chassis, making it a solid pick for collectors and racers who want an accurate, tunable model.

Setup is straightforward: start with the factory wheelbase and ground clearance, fit a mid-power brushless motor, and tweak gear ratio and tyre choice for grip. Small changes to ride height and camber will help dial in turn-in.
Pick a compact 2S-compatible brushless combo and a quality 2-channel radio. Choose an ESC with good throttle response and a steering servo with at least 10 kgcm torque for precise control.
The supplied racing slicks are fine for smooth indoor or asphalt club tracks. For loose or rough surfaces swap to treaded tyres or foam inserts suited to the venue.
You will need a 2-channel transmitter and receiver, a steering servo, a compatible battery pack and charger, plus paints and tools for body finishing. ESC and motor are sold separately.
