The Tamiya Landfreeder Quadtrack reimagines off-road RC running by swapping wheels for engineered track units. Built on the TT-02FT platform at 1/10 scale, this kit gives modelers an innovative setup designed for varied surfaces and dependable hobbyist performance.
The core of the Landfreeder is its three-sided track units that replace conventional wheels. Each track is 39.3mm wide with a 60mm contact footprint to increase traction and stability on rough ground or soft soil. The system uses two elastomer link types, standard and grouser, so you can tune grip for different surfaces. Each unit contains a sprocket plus four rollers, with the third roller sprung to improve contact and handling over obstacles.
The body is molded from tough polycarbonate and arrives pre-painted in PS-5 black, complete with smoke-tinted windows and chrome-plated accents that mimic a full-size truck grille, fog lamps, and roll bar. A polycarbonate chassis cover and wheel well liners help keep dirt and debris out of sensitive areas for longer service life.
The TT-02FT chassis variant keeps the TT-02 platform's adaptable layout while adding features for durability. It uses four-bevel diffs and uniform suspension arms for predictable handling and easy repairs. Power comes from a 540-brushed type motor and the kit includes a new ESC that supports both brushed setups and sensored brushless motors of 21.5 turns or higher.
For RC fans who want a different approach to off-road running, the Tamiya Landfreeder Quadtrack combines proven chassis engineering with a track system that broadens where you can drive. It suits builders who value robustness and straightforward upgrades.
