Jump Into RC with the Tamiya Neo Fighter Buggy DT-03

The Tamiya 58587-60A Neo Fighter Buggy makes a great first build for people getting into radio control. Built on the easy-to-work DT-03 chassis, this 1/10 scale kit balances straightforward assembly with rugged construction so new builders can learn about drivetrain and suspension without unnecessary complexity.

Ready for Rough Tracks

Designed for loose and uneven terrain, the Neo Fighter uses a 2WD gearbox and dog bone driveline for dependable power transfer. Fully independent double wishbone suspension keeps the wheels planted, while plastic friction dampers take the sting out of bumpy runs. The longer wheelbase helps keep the buggy composed at speed and over obstacles.

Practical Layout and Durable Shell

The DT-03 monocoque chassis provides a compact, serviceable platform with the motor mounted longitudinally at the rear to drive the wheels directly. A skid-shaped underside improves clearance and traction on rough ground, and the new polycarbonate body combines impact resistance with a tidy, race-ready look.

With durable construction and a forgiving chassis layout, the Tamiya Neo Fighter Buggy DT-03 is well suited for newcomers who want to build and drive an off-road 1/10 buggy. It provides a solid base for learning setups and future upgrades.

The DT-03 kit is aimed at beginners and uses straightforward assembly steps; basic tools and patience are the main requirements.
A reliable 2-channel radio, a 7.2V NiMH pack or compatible LiPo with a suitable connector, and a matched ESC will cover basic running needs.
The stock friction dampers are fine to learn on, but oil-filled shocks are a common first upgrade for better handling on rough surfaces.
Use polycarbonate-specific paints and apply colour to the inside of the shell; mask carefully and use light coats for the best finish.
