Tamiya Hotshot 1/10 Overview

Classic Looks, Practical Layout

If you remember the original mid-80s Hotshot, the Tamiya 57785 1/10 RC RTR Hotshot Buggy brings that era back with period-correct styling and user-friendly assembly. This release keeps the vintage silhouette while fitting modern convenience for weekend track sessions and casual bashing.

Construction and Materials

The model uses a pre-painted polycarbonate shell finished with period graphics and a sturdy ABS resin bathtub frame that arrives pre-assembled. The shaft-driven 4WD drivetrain sits on a reliable platform, and the 4-wheel double wishbone suspension with oil dampers delivers consistent control over uneven surfaces.

On-Track Performance

Standard Hotshot tyres on white wheels give predictable traction for off-road runs, and the RS-540SH motor supplies the grunt needed for spirited driving. The kit is supplied as a full RTR with a 2-channel transmitter, TSU-01 servo, TRU-02 receiver, and TEU-101BK ESC, so you only need a 7.2V battery and a compatible charger to get running.

The Tamiya 57785 Hotshot suits collectors and club drivers who want a straightforward, authentic-feeling buggy with classic appeal and modern usability.

Because the chassis is pre-assembled and the body comes pre-painted, setup is mainly fitting a 7.2V battery and trimming any protective film from the shell. Basic radio setup is quick for most users.
The buggy runs on a 7.2V 6-cell flat NiMH pack using a standard Tamiya style connector, which matches the included ESC's input requirements.
Yes. The TSU-01 servo and TEU-101BK ESC are fine for general use, but swapping to a higher torque servo or a modern brushless setup will boost performance if you want to race seriously.
Regular checks of driveshafts, shock seals and wheel bearings, plus cleaning grit from the chassis and re-lubing moving parts, will keep the Hotshot running well.
