Classic stunt buggy returns with attitude

The Tamiya 57743 Wild Willy 2 brings back a nostalgic stunt buggy experience for RC fans. This Ready-to-Run model arrives preassembled and ready to show off wheelies and attitude, thanks to its distinctive styling and the time-tested WR02 chassis introduced years ago.

WR02 chassis construction and reinforcement

At the centre of the Wild Willy 2 is the WR02 chassis, built for fun and long life. Its monocoque frame keeps the gearbox rigid and stable while side support bars add strength so the car copes with the stresses of stunt driving.

Power, balance and handling

This buggy uses a 540 motor to deliver reliable power for tricks and spirited runs. The battery sits toward the rear to help the model lift its front end for wheelies. A centrally mounted steering servo with equal-length tie rods produces predictable steering, while independent suspension and oversized tyres boost grip and stability across mixed surfaces.

Out of the box items and setup notes

The Wild Willy 2 comes with a pre-painted body and a fully assembled chassis so you can get running quickly. Included electronics are an Expec 2-channel transmitter and the TEU-101BK electronic speed controller, but you will need to add your own battery and charger. A painted driver figure is fitted for extra character.

Whether you are new to RC or a seasoned hobbyist, the Wild Willy 2 offers a simple, tough platform for stunt practice and casual bashing. Its blend of classic design and practical features makes it a reliable choice for wheelie-focused fun.

The RTR format keeps setup minimal, so first-timers can be on the track quickly. Basic skills for throttle and steering help when attempting wheelies.
Packed dirt, smooth gravel and firm grass give the tyres traction while allowing controlled wheelies. Very loose sand or deep mud will limit performance.
You will need a compatible battery pack and charger for the speed controller. Check the ESC manual for recommended voltage and connector types before buying.
Yes. The 540 motor is a common size, so swapping to a higher performance motor or different tyre compounds is straightforward for those wanting more speed or grip.
