Realistic Upgrades for Your 1/16 Tiger I with Tamiya 53446

The Tamiya 53446 MF-01 Multifunction Pack is built to raise the realism of a 1/16 scale Tiger I radio-controlled tank. The unit combines audio and motion functions so your model behaves and sounds more like the full-size vehicle.

Sound and Movement Features

The MF-01 introduces several coordinated effects to improve immersion:

  • Main Gun Effects: Simulated flash, firing sound and recoil for the main gun to reproduce firing sequences.
  • Gun Barrel Movement: Gun barrel elevation up to 20 degrees with matching sound cues for a convincing firing stance.
  • Turret Control: Control over turret angle and rotation speed to help position the turret during manoeuvres.
  • Machine Gun Simulation: Machine gun audio synchronised with a flash effect for consistent action playback.

Included Components in the Kit

The pack ships with the main elements required to install the system:

  • DMD Multi-Function Unit designed for the 1/16 Tiger I Tank
  • Speaker plus recoil, flash, turret rotation and gun elevation control modules
  • Communication cable and LED cable
  • Gun barrel spring and the mounting hardware needed for assembly

What You Need for Installation

Before fitting the multifunction unit, prepare these items:

  • A Tamiya Tiger I R/C Tank with a four-channel radio
  • A 7.2V 6-cell flat battery
  • Basic modelling tools for mounting and adjustments
The MF-01 is intended for the Tamiya 1/16 Tiger I Early Production kit (56011). Other Tiger I variants may need modification to accept the unit.
A 7.2V 6-cell flat battery is required to operate the multifunction unit and associated sound and movement functions.
Installation needs basic tools and some modelling experience to secure the modules and route cables; follow the instruction sheet and take time aligning moving parts.
