With BMW having all but sown up the Manufacturer's Championship inside 2nd final round through the period, the last competition brought alongside an amazing finish to see which BMW team motorist would claim the motorists' Champion-ship. The growing period completed with BMW Team British motorist Andy Priaulx winning the championship by the slightest of margins, 1 point over BMW Team Germany motorist Jorg Muller.
