Design History and Service Record

The original U.S. M109 began development in 1952 and became a widespread artillery platform across many armed forces. The German M109G variant added distinctive track and cupola shapes, smoke dischargers, and rear turret storage boxes. Swapping the standard 155mm gun for the FH70 barrel extended effective range to about 24.7 km, and this configuration remained in service through 2007.

Kit Details and Build Notes

This 1/35 kit reproduces M109A3G-specific features such as the cupola and FH70 barrel, with improved moulding to clarify parts like the panoramic telescope. Track components are supplied in a cement- and paintable material, helping achieve a realistic finish while remaining durable during assembly.
