The Tamiya 37021 model recreates the M107 self-propelled gun, tracing its origins back to 1956 and highlighting its notable service during the Vietnam War. Featuring the long 175mm barrel, open-top hull and hydraulic spade, this 1/35 scale kit captures the vehicle used by U.S. and South Vietnamese units through 1975 and reflects its role at engagements such as Khe Sanh in 1968.
This release refines the original Italeri tooling with new components and Tamiya's fitment standards. Builders will find detailed jerry can racks, realistic hydraulic pipe connections and belt-style tracks that can be cemented or left flexible. The kit supplies vinyl tubing for hydraulic lines and improved part alignment for a cleaner build, and it includes Tamiya figures plus M16A1 rifle details to enhance diorama scenes.
Two Vietnam War marking choices are provided, and the rear spade can be modelled raised or lowered after assembly. With the included accessories and figures, the M107 works well as a focal piece for larger dioramas or as a standalone display with weathering and small-scale detailing.
