In 1938, the German business Arado built the Ar. 196A twin-float reconnaissance seaplane. After being selected while the champ of a design competition, the Ar.196 became the conventional aircraft of German Navy during WWII. This seaplane was in fact operating on a BMW132K air-cooled motor which produced 960hp. The 196A has two 7.92mm firearms, two 20mm cannons, and two 50kg bombs.
