The Soviet KV-1, adopted from 1939, stood out on World War II battlefields for its heavy protection. The Model 1941 version is fitted with the 76.2mm ZIS-5 gun and featured a welded turret with armor thickness up to 75mm, giving it notable survivability during the fighting that followed the Axis offensive in June 1941.
German forces used simple wooden and paper cutouts of the KV-1 for recognition and planning. Mirroring that history, Tamiya includes a small scale model in this kit intended for diorama use, letting builders stage command briefings or frontline encounters with authentic detail.
