The Tamiya 35309 model kit reproduces the Soviet BT-7 cavalry tank from the 1930s with precise surface detail and accurate road wheel geometry. Favoured for its speed in conflicts such as the Spanish Civil War and early Eastern Front engagements, this kit highlights the BT-7s sloped armour and distinctive running gear.
Based on ideas from Walter Christie influenced designs, the BT-7 was notable for its mobility thanks to coil spring suspension and a strong powertrain that allowed speeds up to around 31 mph. The design also permitted removal of the tracks for wheeled travel on roads.
This 1/35 assembly includes finely detailed photo-etched parts, a metal towing chain and a small jig for bending brass components. Builders will find clear parts for the headlight lens and vision guard, plus link-type track sections suitable for straight runs.
