The Sturmgeschutz III Ausf.G was a key German assault gun in WWII, built on the Panzer III chassis to deliver infantry support. This early G-type is represented here in 1/35 scale, showing the lower silhouette and fixed casemate that made the design effective on the battlefield. The kit reflects the vehicle's transition from the short 75mm gun to later, more powerful armament after encounters on the Eastern Front.
The Ausf.G version that appeared in late 1942 mounted the 75mm L/48 gun and added features such as the square gun mantlet, an MG42 protected by a shield, and the commander's cupola. From 1943 many examples received Schurzen side skirts for extra protection; this release captures the early G configuration and its historical role.
Tamiya's engineering shows in a kit of more than 220 parts with crisp external detail. The assembly offers separate suspension arms, realistic rubber tracks, and accessories like towing cables, shovels, and smoke dischargers. Two crew figures and optional hatch positions are included to enhance display compositions.
