The Tamiya 35187 1/35 Zimmerit Coating Applicator gives modelers a dependable way to reproduce the paste-like Zimmerit finish seen on WWII German armour. This tool helps add a convincing anti-magnetic mine surface to 1/35 scale kits, improving realism without complex sculpting.
Zimmerit was a textured coating applied to German vehicles in World War II to stop magnetic charges from sticking. For scale modelers focused on historical fidelity, matching that surface texture is an important detail that can elevate a build.
The set contains six precision metal saw blades made to form the Zimmerit pattern on vertical armour faces. Blade lengths range from 1" to 2" (2.5cm to 4.5cm) so you can work around hatches and curved plates. Note that the applicator handle is sold separately as No. 74018, and an instruction sheet is included to walk you through application technique and care.
