The Panzerkampfwagen VI-B, commonly called the King Tiger, combined heavy armor with an 88mm gun and became one of the most recognisable German tanks of World War II. This Tamiya 35169 kit recreates the Porsche turret form of the vehicle at 1/35 scale, letting hobbyists assemble a faithful static replica that highlights the turret's rounded profile.
Introduced during 1943 to counter advancing Allied and Soviet armour, the King Tiger offered superior firepower and protection. The Porsche turret variant kept a distinctive curved front and narrower silhouette compared with the Henschel type, and saw operational use despite production challenges.
The kit is aimed at static modellers, with injection moulded parts in light brown and black, a posed commander figure, and realistic flexible tracks. External fittings include opening hatches and a mesh screen for the intake, plus waterslide decals and clear pictorial instructions to support accurate finishing and display.
